An Original…

Australian Night Sky - Phil Hart

Stumbling… crawling… ever forward,
With each faltering step,
The droning assails every fiber within you.

The flickering light
Sparks wafting high, into the vastness of space.

A heavy pressure reverberates…
Pounding…
crushing your torso
as you fall…

You awaken to find the elder kneeling
Pointing to the vastness above
the voice washes over you…
“Oshkagoojin ‘aw dibiki-giizis… niibaabatoo”

The above piece of poetry is the first poem I’ve written in over twenty-five years. It is entitled “The Dancing Moon”. The final line is aboriginal that, loosely translated, means “the moon, she dances in the sky”.

Under The Radar with 1980’s Soundtracks

In the Eighties, there were some movies that got recognition and some that didn’t. But, all of them had music that was pleasing. Here are twenty-one tracks that (somewhat) flew under the radar. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t credit my friend Alison for the inspiration for this mix…
